A good teacher: If Jesus really said the things recorded in the Bible, He cannot possibly be simply a good teacher. A good teacher teaches his students (in this case disciples) the truth, otherwise that person is not a good teacher. If Jesus was not the Son of God and was not the only way into heaven, both of which he claimed, he was a horrible teacher because he either lied to His students or was crazy, both of which disqualifies Him from being a good teacher. Only if what He said were really true (the only way into heaven, being God) can He truly be considered a good teacher. Thus one has to accept that He is God, which would explain why He was such a good teacher, if they want to say He was a good teacher.
A prophet: Jesus could not have simply been another prophet of God. Although Jesus was a prophet, because He spoke God's words of things to come (His own crucifixion, His second coming etc), that could not have been all He was. If you do not trust the Bible as truth, then there is no basis for any of your arguments about Jesus being true. If you do trust the Bible as being true, you would have to accept that Jesus Himself said He was more than a prophet. Jesus claimed to be God and the only way into heaven in one simple verse. John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me." "I am" was a phrase God used to describe Himself to Moses. Any Jew during that time period would have recognized Jesus' claim of being God. (Look at the Jews' reaction in John 8:59 to the same phrase: I am). Jesus also said He was the only way to the Father, that is, heaven. If you believe that Jesus is a prophet from Jesus' prophecy in the Bible, you also have to accept that He is God and the other claims He made, since it is all from the same Bible.
Never Existed: Some say that Jesus never existed, due to a lack of records other than the Bible that claim He did. The fact is, there is a lack of evidence of most anyone at all existing back then, since it was 2000 years ago. One should be suprised at the number of non-Biblical references there actually are, since Jesus' ministry on Earth was only about 3 years long, He didn't stir up any trouble outside of Jewish lands, and since He died a humiliating, criminal's death. Since it mainly would have been Roman documents recording Jesus and His death, Jesus would have had to stir up some sort of trouble in actual Roman cities in order to really have His name recorded as a troublemaker as repeatedly as many skeptics would like. In the face of logical reasons for a lack of written evidence, a few sources that do mention Christ and even His death are in Histories by Cornelius Tacitus, a Roman historian; Alexander the False Prophet by Lucian of Samosata, a satirist; Antiquities by Josephus, a Jewish historian; Suetonius, Pliny the Younger, Tertullian, Thallus, Phlegon etc, the list goes on. Clearly a man named Jesus did exist at the time of His ministry written in the Bible.
A legend: Same explanation to above, Jesus existed even according to non-Christian sources. One cannot argue that some of the things in the Bible are true and others are not. How do we know what is true and what is not? It is either all true or all false. Thus, one cannot say that Jesus existed yet did not do the things (miracles, claims of deity) recorded in the Scripture without throwing everything about Jesus out as well. You cannot accept some of Jesus but not other parts. The Bible's records of Jesus compliment each other throughout the gospels and the entire New Testament. These writings, such as the gospel of Matthew and Luke, have to had been accurate otherwise they would never have survived the critics who saw what the disciples saw. Only in the case that the New Testament writings are true could they have survived that first 100 years after Jesus' death, since the writings could easily be proven false and thrown out if they were false, due to the tremendous number of eyewitnesses to Jesus' ministy who could either prove the critics wrong or crush early Christianity if they knew it to be a lie.
Son of God: Jesus is the Son of God. God said it in Matthew 3:7. In Matthew 11:27 Jesus says it. When Peter says it in Matt 16:16, Jesus affirms it. The angel says it in Luke 1:35. In Luke 10:22 Jesus affirms His relationship as the Son. The last verse I will give is Luke 22:70 because Jesus could not have made it any clearer.
Forgiver of Sins: Jesus forgave individuals of their sin during His ministry on Earth. After His death and resurrection, His sacrifice took the place of all of the sins of those who believe in Him as Rom 3:23-25 says. Someone had to take the penalty for sin. Jesus came into the world fully man, so that He could be in that exchange. No one else could ever take Jesus' place in that, because no one can die for other's sins since they have their own. Jesus was perfect and sinless, and so was able to take our place and suffer the penalty of our sin, which is death. Through His death on the cross, we all are forgiven of our sins.
